आज मैं आप लोगों के लिए एक ऐसा शीर्षक लेकर आया हूं जिसे पढ़ने के बाद आपको यह समझ में आ जाएगा की हर काम समय से करना क्यों अत्यंत आवश्यक है। दोस्तों इस कहानी के जरिए आपको यह पता चलेगा की हम अपना काम समय से यदि ना करें तो उसके क्या क्या नुकसान है, और यदि समय से अपना काम करते हैं तो उसके क्या-क्या फायदे हैं, यह हमें इस कहानी से ज्ञात हो जाएगा। यदि कोई मनुष्य कर्मठ है तो वह अपना काम समय से करता है और उसे उस कार्य का फल समय से प्राप्त होता है क्योंकि जो जैसा करता है वैसा पाता है यह जो कहावत है एकदम सत्य है ठीक उसी प्रकार एक आलसी मनुष्य अपने काम को टालते जाता है जब देखो तब वह यही कहता है कि कल करूंगा कोई भी काम हो कल करूंगा और इस प्रकार उसका कल कभी आता ही नहीं है और समय हाथ से निकल जाता है और वह आदमी परेशानियों में फस जाता है तथा यही कहता है मेरा तो भाग्य ही खराब है जिसके कारण मुझे यह परेशानी झेलनी पड़ रही है। अब आप ही बताइए की उसमें उसके भाग्य का क्या दोष है जब वह अपना काम कल के ऊपर टालते जा रहा है और स्वयं कार्य नहीं कर रहा है तो उसको फल कैसे प्राप्त होगा।
इस कहानी का शीर्षक है, ..... पछतावा क्यों होता है? (Why do you regret it?)। दोस्तों यह कहानी एक चिड़िया और एक कौवे की है इन दोनों के माध्यम से मैं आपको यह बताने की कोशिश करूंगा कि अपना काम समय पर करने से क्या फायदे होते हैं और अपना काम समय से ना करने के क्या नुकसान होते हैं तो चलिए शुरू करते हैं।
दोस्तों एक घना जंगल था उस जंगल में एक बरगद का पेड़ था। बरगद के पेड़ के ऊपर एक चिड़िया और एक कौवा रहते थे। चिड़िया बहुत मेहनती थी वह अपना हर काम समय से कर लेती थी पर कौवा बहुत ही आलसी था वह अपना काम समय से नहीं करता था अपना हर काम वह डाल देता था कहता था बाद में कर लेंगे कोई भी काम हो कल कर लेंगे इस प्रकार वह अपना हर काम कल कर लेंगे इस प्रकार कह कर वह अपना समय नष्ट करता था।
जब वर्षा ऋतु आने के लिए केवल एक महीना शेष था। तब चिड़िया ने अपना घोंसला बनाना आरंभ किया वह एक एक तिनका लाकर अपना घोंसला बनाने लगी कभी सूखी घास और कभी धागे जैसी झाड़ी, और कभी कोमल पत्ते तो कभी मुलायम रुई लाकर वह अपना घोंसला बनाने लगी वह बड़ी लगन और मेहनत से अपना सुंदर और मजबूत तथा सुरक्षित घोसला बनाने में व्यस्त हो गई। बेचारी चिड़िया दिन भर मेहनत करती और घोंसला बनाती तथा आने वाले समय को ध्यान में रखकर वह दाने भी चुन चुन कर लाती थी और घोसले में रखती थी ताकि कठिन समय में उसे खाने के लिए लाले ना पड़ जाए इसलिए वह अपने लिए खाना भी उसी घोसले में इकट्ठा करने लगी। इस प्रकार उसने अपने कठिन समय का अंदाजा लगाकर एक सुंदर घोसले का निर्माण किया और घोसले के एक भाग में दाने इकट्ठे किए ताकि समय पर उसे पछताना ना पड़े।
चिड़िया को लगातार मेहनत करते हुए एक कौवा उसे देख रहा था उससे चिड़िया को मेहनत करते हुए देख कर रहा नहीं गया और उसने चिड़िया से बोला की चिड़िया बहन तू पूरा दिन कार्य करती रहती हो थकती नहीं हो। परंतु बरसात आने के लिए अभी पूरा एक महीना बाकी है तुम अभी से क्यों इतनी मेहनत कर रही हो अभी तो बहुत समय बाकी है और तुम्हारे लिए यह सिर्फ कुछ ही दिनों का कार्य है तो तुम इतनी परेशान क्यों हो कुछ दिन आराम कर लो बाद में अपना काम कर लेना।
इस पर चिड़िया ने कहा- कौवा भैया तुम भी अभी से कार्य करना आरंभ कर दो नहीं तो बहुत देर हो जाएगी और तुम निठल्ले बन जाओगे क्योंकि जब तुम्हें मेहनत करने की आदत ही नहीं रहेगी तो समय पड़ने पर ना दिमाग चलेगा और ना ही बाकी शरीर। तब तुमको बहुत नुकसान होगा इसलिए मेरा कहा मानो और काम करने में लग जाओ।
कौवे को चिड़िया की बातें बहुत बुरी लगी वह चिड़िया की बातें कहां सुनने वाला था उसने अपना मुंह खोला और कांव-कांव करते हुए उस पर से उड़ कर दूसरे पेड़ पर जा बैठा। और तमाशा देखने लगा।
बरसात अपने समय पर आ गई और लगातार कई दिनों तक होती रही आलसी कौवा वैसे ही पेड़ की डाली पर बेहाल सा बैठा रहा। भूख और ठंड दोनों कवि को सताने लगी उसे समझ में नहीं आ रहा था की वह क्या करें कब उसे होश आया कि चिड़िया बहन ठीक कह रही थी अगर मैं भी उसी समय अपने लिए रहने की व्यवस्था कर लेता और खाने का इंतजाम कर लेता तो आज मुझे बारिश में गिला नहीं होना पड़ता और ना ही मुझे ठंड लगती ना भूख सताती।
मेरे प्यारे साथियों उपरोक्त कहानी से हमें यह प्रेरणा मिलती है कि हर कार्य अपने समय पर प्रारंभ कर देना चाहिए फिर निरंतर मेहनत करने की आदत डाल लेनी चाहिए ताकि फल हमें अपनी इच्छा अनुसार मिले नहीं तो हमें भी कवि के जैसा पछताना पड़ सकता है।
